Shaun of the Dead
I finally received Shaun of the Dead from Netflix yesterday and loved it. This was clearly one of the best non-Romero zombie films ever. The film started with quick, clever comical character development.
Not since "Brain Dead" (aka Dead Alive) have I enjoyed a zombie-comedy this much. In comparison it's better than "Return of the Living Dead" and quickly catapults into top rankings with films like "Evil Dead." Great clever Romero references that aren't just mindless moments of hack that other film makers do. This pays homage and doesn't just rip off claiming to be homage.
I highly recommend Shaun of the Dead.

Couldn't agree more! You might also want to check out Fido--not the all-time classic that Shaun is, but still a highly entertaining little zombie comedy.
